(Day 311) - R is for Rim Lighting

For today's letter "R" in my Technique Alphabet, I wanted to try Rim Lighting.

It involves creating a thin line of light to outline the shape of the subject. Some use rim lighting to enhance the subject in order to detach the it from the background. Others use it to illuminate the edges of the subject in a silhouette.

To get the effect, I used three light sources. One behind, and two on each side. It wasn't very easy for me; had a hard time making part of the light show up brightly. Going to have to practice this some more. But tried my best and I do like the results! ◕‿◕
R is for a Radiant capture :)

FAbulous image and illustration of the technique! Also a goal of mine that I haven't worked very hard on! Maybe I'll take inspiration from you again!
