(Day 4) - Rainy Day by cjphoto

(Day 4) - Rainy Day

It's a very rainy day in Los Angeles today. So CJ and I decided to practice with different shutter speeds and focal lengths to capture the falling raindrops. I had a tough time taking pictures of CJ in the foreground & raindrops in the distance (but I did catch a few). Whereas, CJ's vantage spot & depth of field was better for falling rain, especially in the darker areas. We both learned a lot. :)

~By the way, I haven't done a b&w shot like this in what feels like forever! :)
Both of you did an excellent job of capturing the rain. CJ's shot is a little bit more detailed but I love seeing CJ in action too.

Now I see what you're doing this month -- very creative, as always, and very effective to show DoF!

Well done and rain drops in LA are to be celebrated.

Looks like you both captured the scene in your own unique ways. Oh, yes it's been a while since you did black and white- that's because last year you did 365 days of color!

@gigiflower - I heard that this is helping big time. Even some of the reservoirs are overflowing but we'll have to wait to see if it will be enough to end it

Really like the dual perspectives...enjoying your new camera(s)?

@granagringa - Thank you! Yeah, we're loving them. They have much more snap to them then our previous ones. Really fun to use.

Beautiful rain, fun shot

looks rather a precarious spot for CJ to stand and your shot of the rain is great

I love both these pictures, the rain fall in them is just lovely and the black and white editing suits the dreary day that it was I guess.
