A few of our neighbors are growing papaya. I've only had it in juice before but never as a raw fruit. I'll have to give it a try one day. Regardless, it's really cool how they grow on the tree.
Oh yes! You must try a good ripe papaya. They are wonderful. I had them in Hawai'i. It is hard to find time one rule here in Texas and I've never been able to get the green ones at the store to ripen for me.
