This is what went through my head when I took my first pic of a bumblebee today! I took lots, but the first ones were not very close up. I have to confess that this is the first subject I've shot that I was scared of. Little honey bees and green bees don't bother me, but these bees are huge! It doesn't help that I was stung on the nose when I was around fifteen. I was in a hayloft and the bee flew into me!
I didn't get stung today, but there were a couple of times that the bees showed a little too much interest in me. I just slowly backed away. I think I held my breath too. :0)
Great pic, but dont worry about being stung. The bee will die if it stings you so it won't sting unless it is in danger. Wasps, however will sting with no provocation!!
@murnane Thank you Marg! They really looked huge through the camera especially the few times they flew upward towards the lens! I can move pretty fast for an old woman sometimes! LOL!
