Tree Toppers

I'm posting a little differently today. I'm posting a theme pic in my main album and an insect in my extra album.

I was away from home today helping a relative. When I drove onto her street, I saw these utility workers. The first thing that popped into my head was the machinery theme.

The workers were from the power company and were using cherry pickers to cut down a tree. They were nice enough to let me take pics. :0)

It was really interesting to watch. They cut all the branches off first and then they cut sections from the trunk. The sections were about three feet long.

I imagine it would look a bit like a crab with two pincers, p icking and picking at the tree, cutting it down bit by bit. Nice theme shot!

We always have these guys outside our apt working on the trees around my neighbourhood - so noisy as they bring the woodchipper along with them! Great shot for the theme:)
