Castle Gwynn by cjwhite

Castle Gwynn

This is Castle Gwynn. I took this pic while standing on the side of the road on a busy overpass. My husband and I were out and about yesterday and I hadn't had a chance to take a pic. Then I saw the castle! We tried to get closer to it. We found the road it's on, but it's gated and we couldn't see it through the trees. That's why you get a pic like this one. :0)

Castle Gwynn is a privately owned home in Triune, TN. It's a work in progress. The owner is a portrait photographer, who has been working on it since 1980. He started the plans in 1970 and broke ground in 1980. It's definitely a labor of love.

The owners host the annual Tennessee Renaissance Festival in May. During the festival, people with tickets, can take a tour of the castle. This is the only time it's open to the public.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my green bee pic! My husband is on vacation and we're getting ready for our Family Pumpkin Carving Party tomorrow night. I may not be able to get all my commenting done, but I'll do as much as I can. :0)

I'm posting a little closer view in my other album. :0)

at least it is to scale (pretty much) and looks like a real castle....we have this one I think I mentioned to you....it is scaled like a large but regular ranch house or a bit taller and is like a castle...with a moat swimming pool around it. I have taken photos of it years ago...will go back t his spring maybe....
