That red really stands out. I can't help but smile when I see them craning their necks toward the sun.

I tried to get some shots of a few red-ears at a small pond near here about a month ago, but they weren't even coming out of the water then. Not sure what the conditions have to be in order for them to come out, but I intend to try again.
