This morning I checked on the Painted Lady butterfly chrysalis. I knew it was ready to open, because i could see the butterfly through the chrysalis.
That was the good news. The bad news was that I had somewhere to go today. I checked on it as soon as I got home this afternoon and this is what I found. I missed the grand opening!
The Black Swallowtail caterpillar was still on the hemlock, I talked Jeff into helping me get it for my butterfly habitat. It was in the middle of some high weeds and brush. He's such a good sport about my 365 addiction!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my pic yesterday! We had an awesome time last night on our anniversary date! :0)
Your shots of the chrysalis and evolution of the butterflies is just magical, Carolyn. It is so amazing to me that you have all of this knowledge - and make art from it!
This is GREAT! Fav for me. The composition, the lighting are perfect! I love that it is empty....gives the photo some good "tension" and feeling to it.
