Missing tails by cjwhite

Missing tails

This Zebra Swallowtail was missing its tails, but it didn't seem to slow it down.

I went out earlier today and didn't go back out until sundown. It was 106F today and very humid.

I think the hummingbirds are finally coming back from nesting. I'm hoping to get a hummingbird shot tomorrow.

Thank you for you views, comments, and faves on yesterday's skipper and bee! :0)

I'm posting a Variegated Fritillary in my other album. Forgive me for posting another one, but I liked his little redhead. :0)

Lovely shot Carolyn. Wonder if a bird made a grab for him and only got the tail bits.

Cool capture on a hot day. I guess it should be called a Zebra Swallow butterfly since the tails are gone. :)

This is a great shot - his colors are wonderfully clear. This heat is either driving away many of our butterflies or they're out when I'm not - which is most of the daytime. We matched your temperatures yesterday. Ugh.

You do the most stunting B. Pic. Great of you you share them .
The clay in our country have many different colors . Depends on where it is ( or where you find it ).
In the North part , beside the rivers, the big polders or where I live the south delta and there is a different between the old and fresh clay
