This is a Common Branded Skipper. I'm not seeing very many butterflies. I think it's because the drought killed so many of the wildflowers.
I had an awesome experience today. I was checking on some of my flowers, when I heard a hummingbird. It was a foot away from me. I knew I was too close for a pic, so I just stood still and enjoyed the show. It was a female Ruby-throated hummingbird. She was so tiny! Her green feathers were so pretty and iridescent. I've never been that close to a hummingbird and I loved it! :0)
Thank you so much for stopping by my project!!! :0)
Wonderful focus on this - such fantastic detail. I'm not seeing many butterflies here either - too hot for the flowers as you said. That's such fun about the hummingbird - the closest I get in the back yard is when I hear one buzz me as he zooms over my head! That is a distinctive sound!
We're not seeing alot of butterflies here either ...lots of bees tho! And no hummingbirds. Beautiful capture here and lovely color tones. Gorgeous pov!
Must have been a great experience being so close to a hummingbird! I've never seen one. (They don't live in this part of the world.) A great shot of the skipper! Love your focus, and its beautiful wings. 8)
How fun to enjoy that little hummingbird.
and I am seeing more butterflies now than earlier!
