Vanessa cardui

Today is the first day of fall. It was a beautiful day with blue skies and a slight breeze.

I saw several Painted Ladies, so I decided to try for a top view. It wasn't easy! The ladies wanted to stay folded.

I'm over the soldier beetles photobombing me. This is one of the few shots that didn't have one in it. :0)
