Suet attraction by cjwhite

Suet attraction

The Red-bellied Woodpeckers have finally found the suet. They seem to love it as much as the little Downy Woodpecker. It would be awesome, if they would share with each other. Flurry (female red-bellied) scares D.W. (male Downy) away and Woody (male red-bellied) scares Flurry away.

Thank you for your views, comments, and faves! :0)
I think, next to Blue Jays, Woodpeckers are the most aggressive backyard birds.

@mej2011 I have a rogue mockingbird that is attacking all the birds, even the woodpeckers and blue jays. I wish I knew how to stop it!

@cjwhite
That's odd. When we wanted to get rid of Grackles because they were attacking the smaller birds, we had to remove our sunflower feeder and suet feeder temporarily.

Wonderful shot. I had all three at the feeder at the same time this morning briefly: a downy, common flicker and red-bellied. Sunday we had 18 different species!

Love this shot. I have a suet feeder in my yard, but since we don't have many trees, no woodpeckers have found there way to it.
