Our extended family "put up" corn today. The guys went to the field and picked a truck load. They shucked it and we ladies silked, washed, and put in bags. Then we ate lunch. After lunch the men started the propane fires in the garage and pot by pot boiled the corn 7 minutes, cooled it in ice chests, and then we ladies cut it off the cob for the freezer. We put away 145 pints (69 liters) in the freezer. This is a family ritual that is complete for 2015!!
