This crop is called maize and our little town has a celebration this weekend called "Maize Days". It looks like this field needs a couple more weeks to be fully red.
@aglennc Anita, my husband told me to clarify that this is milo maize. It is harvested and ground up for feed for animals. Indian corn looks just like an ear of corn but the kernels can be all different colors.
