Sure enough! Spring is springing for sure. And I'm like you, having never noticed some things before 365 inspired me to take a closer look, for the sake of a picture.
Thanks for the comment shared on my "Captains Return" photo — very interesting to learn that you've taught 5th grade history! Bet that really was a good age for presenting history lessons to.
Love the simplicity and the colors. I had noticed that on my rose bush by they back door just the other day. Knew you had taught, but didn't know what - I taught 5th grade social studies for 2 years (about 30 years ago) before they went away from departmentalizing (back to it again now) and loved it.
Wow, the variety of colors really is amazing. Even the thorns add color with their warm, golden hue! Your dof emphasizes the beauty perfectly. 365 really does open our eyes and enrich our lives, doesn't it? This is a big FAV for me!
Such a beautiful shot - and yes, photography opens up the world to us in a new way, doesn't it? I also taught school for many years with 4th grade being one of my favorites - never made it to 5th:)
@lyndemc@milaniet I taught 4th grade social studies for many years (which was Texas History) and then got moved to 5th grade social studies (which was U.S. History). I absolutely loved it and learned way more than the kids did. We did some awesome projects, and I liked to try to make history come alive for them. Then...... they decided to go to "self-contained" classrooms, where I had to teach all subjects. I don't believe it was a good move for the kids, and it surely wasn't for me. So I eventually ended up as the music teacher before leaving the public school system. Right now, I teach at our private Christian preschool two days a week. I also have a children's choir once a week. I am enjoying the lighter schedule. Leaves me more time for grandkids, travel, and of course, taking pictures!
