I love walking around downtown San Pedro because I always find something interesting... On 6th Street is a Sports Walk Hall of Fame, which began as a way of honoring local sports greats, like Mark Spitz, and now includes national athletes. I remember watching Mark during the Olympic games, but I could not recall the year. I researched his Olympic career and in 1972, he set a world record for the most gold medals received during a single Olympic Games. He won seven gold medals that year, across individual and team events.
