Edisto River at Givhans Ferry State Park, Dorchester County, South Carolina
What an idyllic scene recently during a brief visit to Givhans Ferry State Park. This is a favorite spot for kayakers and canoeists to put in or take out on paddles down the river. It's also a favorite "swimming hole" where the heat-weary can escape from the hot summers days we have had of late. In summer the river is only a few feet deep here and is ideal of wading and swimming. Observing from the bank, I must say I was a it envious.
