Live oak, Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site, Charleston, SC

This is the grandest of the live oaks at the state historic site park. I have photographed it many times over the years. It is a very special old tree, perfectly formed. The setting is very peaceful. It is an essential refuge from the storms of the age we are living in.
That tree looks so majestic. A lovely place to sit down on the turf and read a good book.
