Baby Nutrition ... after the birth (or Got milk? #2)
Because I have been time-poor today and because I mentioned to @onie and @sailingmusic that I would do this....
How I provided my babies with nutrition for the first two years of their lives.
Another one from the vault (circa 2005).
On the off chance anyone has more ideas .... H was always a vomity baby ...and not just a little bit ... a LOT ....he'd spew after every feed and could generally cover more than 1m² each time.
It got a bit better and we ignored it, but then, just before Greg died we noticed that he seemed to have excess saliva and was spitting all the time. He's had a gastroscopy last year to rule out gluten allergies and other nasties, but the spitting and vomiting continues ... to the point that tonight, he has a sore throat and is getting a cold and just managed to coat me and the floor in spew. .... which can happen seemingly whenever he's not 100% well. Gastrocsopy didn't tell any stories other than fewer than normal blood vessels in oesophagus and he can have somac to help a bit..... but still we have no idea of the cause of his dodgy tummy.
So if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them!
Such a beautiful shot Amanda. Isn't it just the most amazing thing! I'm so disappointed that despite breastfeeding 4 babies for a total of more than 7 years (!) I still only have a couple of photos. Why oh why?
Oh wow that is gorgeous! I love that look... it's just gorgeous. Also impressed to learn that you were an "extended" breast feeder... Elijah stopped in about June last year.... so those looks are still kinda fresh in my memory. Poor H!! That must be awful, poor kid. Sorry, I have no ideas at all other than... go and get another opinion and push for answers.
That look in his eye is so heavenly - pure bliss!
Sorry to hear about his problems.. I don't have any ideas but can certainly sympathise... several times my George was sick over the side of his bunk-bed. He's old enough to make it to the bathroom now (or into a bucket)...it wasn't something I miss. Hope it either settles down or someone comes up with something. And hope he gets well soon. :)
I happened upon our first born with my wife when she was feeding her by the window in the bedroom. This was 22 years ago when I was still shooting with film. The light from the window was perfect, but I didn't want to spoil the moment by setting up my tripod and camera.
I never did get a shot of any of our kids nursing like that and I kick myself to this day. It was a perfect shot missed. Sigh.
Yours is a wonderful shot. As others have stated, you can see that dreamy look. perfect.
