Lucky is one of our chooks, rescued from the small hands of a classroom of prep students when the teacher thought they had broken her leg (she was fine, just sunning herself with an outstretched leg). She is the smallest of our hens but lays the largest (90g+) eggs and is the instigator of all evil in the garden. She will track down and rip out any seedlings you've just planted, evade barricades to feast on vegetables, make nests in obscure places and jump the fence to trash the neighbour's yard. ....she's just lucky she is the best layer to make up for it.
This did make me laugh - the instigator of all evil in the garden! What a great face she has though, most expressive and you've captured it wonderfully.
RIP Clucky.
Farewell, Lucky, Queen of Galliforms, whose long and faithful friendship those who knew you won't forget! Though your body will decay, your spirit lingers on in the soft-spun places of your forest nest. May your many-feathered descendants ever flourish and your human friends find solace for the loss they have sustained.
