it was the last castle to be built in England,
and is dramatically situated above the Teign Valley.
It is one of my favourite National Trust properties.
A truly delightful place!
My only complaint is that the tearoom is at the exit,
which is fine,
until you want a latte halfway round!
They have changed the route slightly since we last visited,
so we emerged from the house
to see this fine collection of vintage cars
assembled outside the entrance.
It gave a really timeless feel to the place.
i thoroughly expected a load of flapper girls to emerge!
