On Saturday we visited the cathedral at Bury St Edmunds.
It was my first visit,
but miraculously it had sprouted a fantastic lantern tower
since my chauffeur last visited!
it's an incredibly light and stylish Cathedral - well worth a visit,
and the refectory serves the best food I have encountered in a Cathedral cafe so far!
We discovered Bishops hiding in Cloisters,
and made the bookshop people very happy
- my husband got some very expensive biscuits that came with numerous free CD's & books...
We also visited St Mary's church next door
and discovered the Guild Hall,
even if it was decorated with scaffolding!
Ended the day at the launch of a 2 week art exhibition
at Long Melford church,
which was the inspiration for the weekend away!
Another great day!
Took lots of photos,
but this one stood out for me
as a reminder of the day.
