The White Tower

This well known landmark in Bognor Regis was constructed in 1898 by the architect John Cyril Hawes who built it like this so he could see the sea over the Georgian houses that occupied the sea front. In the 1980s these houses were demolished and several blocks of luxury flats were built thus obscuring the sea view even from the very top of this building.
