@santina It resembles the stalk of celery. It is very tart and most recipes use lots of sugar. My mother in law makes bread, cake and pies with it. I've made a favorite recipe called ruhbarb tart (a sort of dump cake). Its served with ice cream. I've also made strawberry-ruhbarb jam.
