Came across thes lovelt blue flowers on my walk today.Any ideas?

its a rhodedendron (I think) growing in alkali soil so itls blue. Like the curve you got here Dereck

We call it hortensia and i've seen it by the horrible name of hydrangea (who comes up with these names?)
And as far as i know, the colour is influenced by the ph of the soil.
I may talk rubbish.
But i am a sucker for this shade of blue

Blue Hydrangea Dereck they also come in pink and white . Nice capture.
