This is one of my favourite shops in town, a watchmaker and repairer who has been here since the 1940's in much the same form since my childhood. Mr W's father is the man in the photo on the shelf who started the business and who I remember from my childhood, the other photo is of the shop in it's early days. I remember clearly always coming here for watch repairs with my Grandma, she would trust no one else, and now the generations carry on the tradition.
Recently the watch repairer who works with my daughter retired, I wondered how many in dependant watch repairers there still were. I need a battery and my daughter still hasn't got it replaced, it's been near on a year... Now the watch guy has retired. Beautiful shop of old charm
