Follow the tag to see the previous photos. A sad follow up to this tale is that all nine eggs hatched but the swans and sygnets ganged up and killed some Aylesbury ducks which are flightless, two of their ducklings have been rescued however. A funny follow up is that as my daughter spoke on her mobile phone two of the sygnets bit her on the legs, more funny than painful fortunately! :-D
Nice capture -- despite their beauty, swans can be very hostile. I hear that's why we no longer have swans on our ponds in Columbia. Where they went or who removed them I do not know.
The swans and their kids are beautiful, but unfortunately they did not behave very beautifully toward those poor ducks. Glad that two ducklings were rescued at least.
They can be pretty scary especially out of the water at their full height, but so beautiful at the same time. Nature is cruel and beautiful in equal measure.
@catwoman2 sounds a bit drastic! They belong to the Crown here so no one can kill them. @tristansmum they're doing fine now though whether they will be released on to the Lake again I don't know. @sugarmuser@mandyj92@paulaw thank you all for your comments.
