Hollyhocks

Today's my. 23rd anniversary with my partner. We have never married,by choice, and so this celebrates our first day together as a couple. We could never decide the exact day in June, and so when we discovered today was also Bloomsday and as we both love James Joyce and Eire, we made it our anniversary day. Hollyhocks are doing marvelously, a housewarming gift from my daughter's father-in-law last year. Cannot leave this comment tonight without mentioning the tragic events in our country today, when an unassuming hard working young MP, Jo Cox, has been murdered just doing her job in her West Yorkshire constituency. A sad day for Britain and humanity. RIP Jo.
Deni, such sad news. I had not yet seen the evening news. I will keep her family in my thoughts and prayers. Your photo is lovely. Hollyhocks are one of my favorite flowers. They grew at the back alley of the house where I grew up.

Lovely hollyhocks which I've seen more in France than in England. Happy Anniversary!

@quietpurplehaze Thank you. They get bigger everyday. Hoping that my eyes are at last on the mend, though early days yet. Did you see the purple haze chilli's?

@mcsiegle thank you for your fav. I've not seen these until I moved south perhaps it's too cold and windy in Yorkshire?
