This rather large iguana greeted us every day in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. He liked to sun himself on the archway that lead from our hotel to the white sand beach. This guy was about 3 feet long.
Nice portrait of one of nature's long term survivors. Like this and you can see it comes from the same era and age as the crocodile though I suspect if it was the latter maybe you wouldn't have got that close
