A perfect place to take a peaceful rest after a walk. The same place I took the photo of the bridge yesterday, they have these benches placed around their walking path which provides for a wonderful opportunity for the weary wanderer to rest their aching feet, a definite peaceful rest for those of us who are not accustomed to walking that long.
Sorry, I didn't see the other comments until now. It was a rubber factory, their corporate headquarters are across the street now. That building has become a place for squatters, although they recently hired a security company to stop that from happening. And yes, he lit my cake with a blow torch, so I wanted him to have a visual reference with how little of the letters would be left by the time he finished lighting his candles. :) Yeah, he's got THAT type of sense of humor...but I love him.
Very peaceful scene nicely captured in B&W. Re: the eucalyptus - it seems that there kind be a whole variety of different bark effects depending on the age of the tree and other factors - well according to Wikipedia at any rate. This one is certainly quite colourful - helped by the rain bringing out the colours (and a touch of saturation post-processing!)
Very atmospheric Rick, love the lighting. The beard thong is just one those phases, it has been reduced to a goatee at the moment, 20 years is a long time to have a beard
This is phenomenal- I love bench pictures and this one is spectacular. I think you really captured an insightful, almost melancholy mood. A definite fav!
Love the lighting!
The composition, perspective and lighting are all "right on".
