On my way into work today I came across this wandering cow. She was standing in the middle of the road, so I stopped my SUV, got out and she politely walked into the field along the road and turned around and looked at me as if to say, What Are You Looking At?
Someone out in South Dakota (I think) posted a cow photo recently...same thing...came around a bend and there was a cow in the road. Glad you had your camera with you!

Nice shot. With the way you did the frame it looks like the vegitation is coming over it on the bottom, giving it a 3D effect. I like the fog in the background too. Say, isn't it bad luck to cross the path of a black cow .. :)
Cows always scared me as a child. We lived across the road from a dairy farm, but a family friend had another cow who I remember liked to intimidate us kids.

Excellent capture, I love the way the three elements are presented - they foggy background, the contrasting darkly coloured cow (and her pose/expression) and the textured and quite colourful grass. Works really well and a great shot!
Awwww, I love it. It would be rather startling to see a cow standing in the middle of the road. Glad she wandered over to the side. I think I would find her a little intimidating. I really love the foggy background.
Great shot! Love the mist! Re: to your comment- I HAVE seen the birds- it's actually a kind of tradition with my mother and I to watch it when its on- and that is exactly what inspired me to take the picture of the birds on the wire you were referring to.

Very atmospheric and he mist gives it an eerie feeling that there's just you and the cow. :)))
