The Grandkids were over for the weekend, and though we did nothing special, it was an enjoyable, relaxing weekend. Since we now have television hooked up in the basement, they can spend time down there watching their "girly" programs. Before they went home today I decided to take a few photos. They enjoy having their photos taken and then even more so, watching Grandpa edit them into something they like. For the most part they are best friends, but now that Destiny is 14 years old, she has been given a little more independence, the key words, "a little more." Kassidy who is now 8 years old, is struggling a bit not having her big Sister around all the time, but it is slowly getting better. They grow so fast, and we worry about their well being, but trust that they will remember what they have been taught in regard to right and wrong, and the importance of making good choices.
They are beautiful! At least you can get photos out of them. I can't get my youngest to take photos for me for nothing and she takes amazing photos. She takes them of herself all the time on her phone. I really don't understand why I can't take them of her. LOL They are so funny as they get older. Well, we have that promise if we train them up in the Lord, when they are older they will not depart from it. :-)
great collage Rick- your granddaughters are beautiful! we have the same struggle at my house- Jillian feels like she is being left behind by Rachel :( glad you had a relaxing visit!
Beautiful girls and beautiful portraits of them, grandpa!!! They all grow up way too fast. Thank you for sharing the girls with us. I enjoy seeing your family.
I envy you! I have only grandsons! But I do now have a grandson's girlfriend and also my son-in-law's daughter by another marriage and his granddaughter! I love the girls!! Yours are so lovely and I can tell you really enjoy them! I love the pictures you took!
Your granddaughters are beautiful. Nice portraits. Such a nice grandpa. If the older one has facebook, you should send her the photo so she can use it as her profile pic (girls that age love to change there profile pics as often as they can).
Lovely girls and your concern is natural given the world of temptations that surround kids these days. You can only hope that the lessons you live and teach are stronger than the messages they hear from other forces. Oh yeah, and pray a lot.
Ahhh Rick, what an appropriate place to share the joys of being a grand parent, and to tell you thanks for being one to welcome me into this delightful club! Your babies are growing up so beautifully, and I love reading about the things you now share with them. I can imagine them watching over your shoulder as you create this fall border for their pictures, and the pleasure they take in your company! Lucky them! Lucky you!
They are so beautiful! You put together a wonderful collage of them. Yes, it is very difficult when one sibling all of a sudden gets to do more things than the other. My kids are 11 years apart so my daughter moved out of the house when my son was only 7. He actually cried when he lost his first tooth because he was afraid he was going to grow up and have to move out of the house too LOL.
Okay, need to stop rambling here!
