Do You Believe In Angels? by digitalrn

Do You Believe In Angels?

The morning drive to work was humid, and the air was thick as you can see. The haze hung close to the ground, and it didn't improve as the day went on. The heat and humidity is back for the next couple of days, but we are expecting some storms tonight, so hopefully it will improve.

In yesterday's post I mentioned an incident, an encounter if I may that my Nephew experienced, and shared with us last evening while visiting with family friends. First of all, let me give you a quick background. My Father had a Chevy HHR, and he loved his car. The color was unique, kind of an off green, with a tint of grey I'd say, very different, and in the four years that he had it, we have never seen another one matching that color. The wheels on his HHR were also unique to Dad's liking. Anyway, on the day that Dad passed away, he had picked up my Nephew Kyle at his house, and then drove to the golf course. We learned from the ER physician that Dad most likely died almost instantly while still on the golf course from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. In the ambulance, he was diagnosed with what they refer to as Asystole, no cardiac electricity. After the administration of the maximum dose of powerful cardiac medications they could give him, there was still no cardiac activity, so we assume, based on what the physician said to us, Dad died instantly, and painlessly. After the ambulance left the golf course enroute to the hospital, my Nephew Kyle drove my Dad's car back home. Just up the street from where Kyle lives there is an intersection. As he approached the intersection, Kyle spotted the car. Kyle said, "I saw the car, I had to take a second look, because it was the exact same color as Grandpa's car. Then I saw that the HHR had the exact same wheels that Grandpa had on his. When I saw the driver I was really surprised, because he was built just like Grandpa, and there was a female in the passenger seat." Kyle said he pulled into the driveway, jumped out, and as he turned to look at the road, "As he drove past he blew the horn and waved." Now I know, there surely are other cars like his, but in the four years that my Dad had his car, we have never seen another one the same color, and absolutely none with the same wheels. Then the fact that this happened shortly after my Dad died, plus there being a female in th car too (my Mother died in July of 1999) and Dad had been mentioning lately that he missed Mom, now to me it is more than just a coincidence. Were they ghosts? No i do not think so,but I do believe that whoever it was, this person was used, a way of sending a message of comfort to Kyle who surely was still upset about what had happened. I truly believe Dad did not want Kyle to worry or blame himself for anything that happened, so he needed hbim to know that everything was ok. Kyle is only 19 years old, and his experience that afternoon had to be traumatic. One more incident or encounter that occurred the same day. The friends we visited last night were very close to Dad, and when I called them to break the news to them around 5:30pm, she was hysterical. She told us that after she hung up from talking to me, she called her Son and was standing in her dining room talking, and looking out the window out toward the road which is close to the front of their house. While she was standing there talking, all of a sudden she saw the car, the HHR drive past. Again, the HHR was the same identical color. She said she screamed, "Oh my God, Russell just drove by!"

I truly believe these two incidents or encounters were messages to two of the people who Dad knew needed to know he was ok. Dad apparently made his rounds to let them know that everyhing was good. As a family we were all worried about our Nephew, and for our friends, but these two encounters truly were messages of comfort. Conincidence? Perhaps, to us, it was a personal message of comfort, delivered through this mysterious person and his car.
Definitely a message of comfort!

Life does not begin nor end here and yes we are contacted in ways that surprise and inspire us. These stories are not unusual. If anything they are a reminder that there is so much more that we don't understand. It sounds like all is well. :-)

WOW! Rick! and YES I believe in angels! I don't know why or how God would do it , but am convinced that he allows such things to happen for reasons that may are beyond our understanding. But it appears that God is confirming, once again, for you, that all is well. God Bless you for sharing your encounter with angels.

Rick, your Dad let everyone know he was alright, and with your Mom. It was a comfort to all of you, as it was meant to be. I believe these things happen often, we just have to be open to seeing them.
July 30th, 2011
I do believe in angels, and in my heart I am sure that your Dad was in fact sending a message to comfort those who were hurting so badly. This story is so powerful and you have illustrated it perfectly! Simply sublime.
July 30th, 2011
Wow! I know exactly what you are saying. My dad loved owls. A few days after he passed away, an owl perched by my front door. He stayed long enough for me to get a picture and make eye contact. I had never seen an owl there before, nor since. I believe that God sends comforting messages in ways that are personal to the receiver. I am with you in spirit! Hugs!
July 30th, 2011

Wonderful story Rick. Thank you so much for relating it to us.

Nice capture for today.

I have just learned your sad news via Mary Moores posting. Now I have read this story and it gives me goosebumps too. It's def a message or a symbol to let you know he's ok and playing golf must have been to him a joy and what a comfort to you he was doing what he loved. Wonderful story and thanks for sharing such a personal event.

Rick this is too much of a coincidence although I've never experienced anything like it I would believe if it happened to me. I hope your nephew is a little bit more at ease now..wat happened at the golf course was truly out of his hands. my thought are with you as always.

What a great comforting story - and yes, I totally believe it could and would happen - especially to those who would be receptive to receive such a message.

God is a big God and I believe He can use even a car to bring peace to loved ones in the midst of trauma. Great story!
August 3rd, 2011
Oh I beleive: My father had a visit from his deceased father a minute or less after his father died of a heart attack. My father and his coworker were on an island that's situated off our island when his father just popped up, looked at my father, and then disappeared. My father was his father's favorite, and for 11 yrs. an only child; my mother always said he could not leave the earth without saying goodbye to my father, and I completely believe her. Yep, your dad was on a mission, and he identified himself unmistakely in a way you'd all know was him. God bless him, and all of you Rick.
August 3rd, 2011
Rick I fell like racing around to share this beautiful story but I won't - I have so much faith that God does these miracles all the time. However people dismiss them as "coincidences" or other such rot. I think the comment from Kass hit the nail on the head "those who would be receptive to such a message"
and so many are not and gosh what they must miss in this life. I loved that this has happened and it will certainly help family and friends to know that he is with his darling wife again, and in the Heavenly Home God had prepared for them and all believers.
August 5th, 2011
Lovely peaceful picture of "green pastures and meadows".
August 5th, 2011
Those are such beautiful words and stories.... Big hugs to Kyle!
August 5th, 2011
wow, what an interesting post. I don't know if I believe ghosts or messages like that, but whatever you can get to make you feel better and your family also feel better, get it, even if it is a coincidence it might be a message disguised as a coincidence.
August 6th, 2011
Your photo has a mysterious, surreal feel to it that fits perfectly with your wonderful story.
August 29th, 2011
chills....I just got the chills. Beautiful story of comfort and hope. Thank you for sharing Rick.
