Tonight I was walking around out back looking for something to photograph, and as I leaned on our neighbor's fence, I noticed this chain. I liked its appearance, and its texture. Even in its rusty and weathered condition, it was still strong, with no sign of weakening. In my mind I began to wonder how I could relate it to my life. Then I began to associate it with the recent loss of our Father. The bond between all my sibblings has remained strong throughout the years, and like this fence, in spite of all the weathering, and the rust, which could symbolically be represented by the personal differences and disagreements we may have had through the years, our bond had remained strong. When we all needed support, it was so reassuring knowing that we could rely on each other to make it through that difficult time. It was love for family, love for each other that strengthened our family chain. I am so thankful for what my family means to me. It is my prayer that you would also know the meaning, and significance of that bond.
Fabulous textures on this black and white shot, and your words are simply wonderful. I'm you have such strong family bonds, and I'm terribly grateful that I do too.
How true is your story of this chain and how it relates to family bonding. I find that it's great when a family does hold together and support each other; as it makes us strong.
However, I have seen some families have weak bonds and wonder how it all fell apart and ended up the way it has; and how they live without each other's support.
Great capture and truly appropriate for thoughts on family. It is a blessing to be a part of a family that holds strong. I'm glad to have that and I'm glad you have it too.
Your parents made this bond and your life experiences strengthened them.. there are lots of families out there that are not that fortunate..
Nice that you have such a wonderful family...
Beautiful and so symbolic Rick. In my childhood I owned an Autograph Book and my dad would always write these words and I extend them to you.

Even with weathering and rust, nothing can break the family bond! This chain is a tribute to the longlasting love of family! Love the words and image of your picture, Rick!
@mrssmith Carla, you are so kind. I am not that strong. My faith is a huge help, and that bond is also a big piece of it as we lean on each other. If it was just me, I don't know that I would make it.
What a wonderful photo and caption, Rick!!! I always love reading what you have to say! I am really sorry that I haven't had much time to comment lately, but I do try to stop by your page whenever I can. I just wanted to let you know that you have other fans in Bulgaria! I met up with my English teacher from highschool last night, and we talked about 365. She's been following my album from the very beginning, but she said that one of her favorite 365-ers is YOU! She loves the wonderful interplay between words and pictuires you always exhibit in your work! I thought you would be happy to know that you are gaining international appreciation! :-) Lots of greetings from Bulgaria and thank you always for your kind and thoughtful comments!!!! :-)
@slava My oh my, I am flabbergasted. You tell your friend that I say thank you for her words. Bulgaria sounds like a wonderful place, and your photos have been very nice.
