I just remembered that I failed to post an update on my personal 30 day challenge. On August 20th I completed the second leg of my 30 day challenge. It all began on June 20th when I began my personal challenge. Then by July 20th I had lost 14 pounds. On August 20th I completed round two, and I had lost an additional 11 pounds, so now my total is at 25 pounds. I am now on my third round, and by September 20th I hope to be well on my way to my personal goal of 50 pounds. I feel better, and already I had to dig out some of my older clothing that I haven't worn in a long time. That's a great feelng. Hope you all have a great Sunday, and for all those enduring Hurricane Irene, please stay safe. We are getting the rain and some wind now. By midnight we expect to be experiencing the worst of it.
Good for you Rick!! Now that Dianne and I are back swimming, I'm starting to see some improvement too. But since I can't do anything terribly strenuous, it'll be a while before I catch up to you! I like the shot of your sneakers- it's perfect for the update!!
Congrats to you for your hard work! How did you do that? My hubby wants to lose 30 lbs. Got any suggestions? Long working hours doesn't help, but I know you work long hours, too. Way to go! Raining buckets here and the wind is blowing like crazy! Be safe!
Awsome black and white and selfie. Besides a lot of walking what are you doing? I have been trying very hard to lose some but just 22 so far. Cant seem to go any further. Have a great day and be safe.
@miata2u Peggy, I was always a fan of deserts like ice cream, pie, etc, and also fried foods, fats, so I cut that out. I have been eating chicken, salads, vegetables, some meat but not a lot. No deserts for the duration though I have been eating some freshs fruits. I do a fair amount of walkign at work, and take brief walks after work, but now I am going to try to pick up the pace a bit more with additional exercise.
Awesome picture! I love it! Congratulations on your weight loss. It isn't easy (thought way easier for a guy than a woman.) :) Praying for all of you out east. Stay safe!
Happy to hear that you are reaching your goal, Rick! Had to laugh when you said that you could wear your older clothes again . . a woman would just go out and buy new ones! Way to go . .and stay safe. A great pic and I am so intrigued by those beautiful steps!!
Wow, congratulations on fulfilling your weight loss goal - such an achievement. I need to do something like that soon but haven't mustered the will power or motivation as yet.
well done on the weight loss, and good luck on the next stage. Great selfie of legs and feet - that would fit the Monday self-portrait (monday-sp) theme too, which is why all the legs this week. Hope you've come through Hurricane Irene safely.
Wow, Rick. That's awesome!! Keep up the good work. It's nice to see a medical professional who practices what he preaches, though I don't think you do any preaching about anyone's weight. You seem like one who accepts everyone just as they are and don't see any flaws. =)
Thanks for the update..you've done exceptionally well and I like the picture you coming down the steps.... one feels so much better when some weight comes off. my husband went up and down like a yoyo and since he never been so heavy he had no clothes to fall back on...but lately he is with one to tow pounds of the weight he likes to be at.. my problem is the sweets as well..love my ice cream too.. since my breathing problem due to heart medication I'm not as active anymore..all I need to lose are the last 5 - 7 pounds and I think that is the hardest.
You are inspiring, Rick. Congrats on your progress! Bob and I have made several 'starts' and then slipped back into old habits. Our next date is after Labor Day. Wish us luck! We both need to lose some weight and eat healthier. Sweets are my weakness, large portions are his. Keep up your good work! Love the composition of this shot. :)
Great news about your update on weight loss I knew you would be doing well with it. Hope you and all on here are safe with that terrible weather, and is there another coming? God Bless all.
Praying for everyone going thru the hurricane.
Praying no damage to your house or your family...
Stay safe in the hurricane
Hope you had a great weekend - I did :)
Love the shot too.
