Special Memento by digitalrn

Special Memento

After my Father passed away this past July, all the kids had the opportunity to choose some of his belongings to take home. Since our Daughter has been away for several years, and missed out on the last several years of his life, I decided to grab a few items for her. These little figurines belonged to my Mother, and for the past twelve years they stood in my Father's cabinet. Our Daughter is very sentimental, and I know she will treasure them. They will serve as a very special memento of her love for Grandma and Grandpa.
Rick, this is so awesome. I love it that this means so much to your daughter. She is so sweet to want something like this at her age. You are a blessed to have her in your life.

sweet, sweet momentos! I am sure she will treasure them -- and the fact that you saved them for her!

Your daughter will treasure them beyond belief, Rick! The only things I have from my beloved grandparents are the best Scrabble game ever designed, a ceramic Christmas tree, a ceramic bunny candy dish, a few ornaments, my Grandmother's cookie cutter collection, and my Grandfather's annoying silver ball that looks like an ornament, but sends out irritating bird calls. I treasure them all. I'm so glad you have saved some treasures for your daughter.

Beautiful shots and mementoes. My daughter too is very sentimental. When my dad died last month she asked me for one of his ties to keep and I chose two of his ties and gave them to her. The same thing happened when my mum died 7 years ago. I had to get a scarf for her to keep.

So sweet to pick out some special items for your daughter to remember her grandparents by. I'm sure she will love to have them. I have some paperweights and perfume bottles from my grandparent's house, and I love to look at them every day on the glass shelves over my kitchen window.

Oh, this collage brings back memories. My grandma had these and called the little girl me. I always felt so special since my grandma had 4 granddaughters. What a nice thing to put aside for your daughter. She will treasure them

@nattybabe Nat, unfortunately they are not Hummels. My Mother never spent a lot of money on these little figurines. She just enjoyed displaying little items like this, though to my Daughter they will be priceless. .
