Till I got home from work tonight I was feeling like I put in a double shift. Went out for supper, had some Chicken Soup and a salad, and now back home. Going to bed soon and will try to sleep away this nasty cold. Hopefully it will ease up a bit and in the morning I will be back to a more normal self. Grabbed a quick shot of my Grandmother's old vintage sad iron sitting on the floor nearby since I was "pressed" for a photo. I kind of like how it turned out in B/W, a vintage look. Now this vintage guy is going to bed, as soon as I finish my coffee. Have a wonderful night everyone.
So it's still hanging on...need a better remedy..even if you're not a drinking man a good glass or rum and the juice pressed out of lime at bedtime and you'll have a good night and feel better in the morning.
Your caption made me smile! My mom has my Grandmother's. Granny was using hers as a doorstop by the time I came along. She would let me play with it. Wonderful pic! I really hope you feel better in the morning!
My dad was a tailor in his days and I remember him using these irons. He used to warm them on the stove before pressing clothes. I think one of my siblings has them now for their vintage value. Beautiful shot - B&W is perfect for it.
Your caption made me smile too, but I'm so sorry you are sick! Fabulous save on getting a photo in, though. I love the composition of this shot and it is perfect in B&W. Hope you got a good night's rest.
Hope you had a good nights rest. I love those old irons... oh, and 3 weeks ago I found the coolest little "junk" shop with all sorts of antiques and vintage items... I thought you might like some of the treasures there.
@stownsend Suzie, thank you. I wish I had more time to spend at photography. I would love to really get into it more seriously, but for now it is all a lot of fun, and then being involved in something like this just adds to the joy. .
They had a little bit of everything...but I think it's one of those places that prices high and expects you to either know what you're buying or be willing to haggle...or both. :)
yeah we do all have days like that - been like that myself for a few days now just too much on my plate but consiidering all that, this photo is marvellous. reminds me of my old collection that I had that I gave to my daughter.
My grandmother used to use these as doorstops. I think she did, I have a vague recollection of tripping over one of them once in her home which you photo has suddenly brought back to me, Rick.
Hope you feel better!!!
we've all been there
great shot to close out the evening
thanks for your continual support:)
