This is a favorite tree of mine that I pass every day, and it provides some awesome shots during the seasonal changes. I love its shape. It only stands about 6 feet tall, and I think the owner keeps it trimmed, because it really hasn't gotten much bigger in the past several years. The field behind it is covered in little purple flowers. Off to the side, in the backgorund you can see a stone wall that surrounds a small cemetery. One of these days I must see if I could get permission to visit it. It would be interesting to see how old the gravestones are.
This tree looks great....Rick when I looked at this tree and the form of it's " head" - top I saw in my mind the head of the German story figure of Strubbelpeter in English Struwwelpeter.. here is a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Struwwelpeter.
what do you thing.
@bruni Wow, I re-read my last response to you and my spelling was terrible. Anyway, I liked your reference to the old German Story Character. That makes total sense to me as my Grandparents were from German heritage, and they frequently used the word "struebled" (not sure of spelling, but they used it in reference to being unkept, sloppy, messy hair, etc. I too have used that word on occasion.

great shot
