My Son and I went out fishing this morning for the first time this season, finally trying out our new reels. The reels worked great! The weather was a bit on the chilly side, and all morning rain hanging over our heads. Sitting on the banks of the Susquehanna River at 7:00 AM with a cup of coffee, waiting for the fish to bite.
Beautiful view! My husband and daughter went out fishing Saturday. He caught a 15" wide mouth bass and was pretty happy about his catch until our daughter got a 19.5" bass!
@happypat Pat, I'm not exactly sure what the stacks are, but I know up in that direction is the Safe Harbor Hydro-Electric Plant, but probably some type of foundry.
Wow! Susquehanna, huh? I was born in Johnson City and grew up in Binghamton. We were practically neighbors. I used to canoe in this river, a smaller part of it for sure.
Don't keep us guessing..Did they bit..how many did you guys catch?..whatever I'm sure you had a great time with your son..I remember those early mornings well.
I can't believe you live near the Susquehanna River. @carmichaelbev Ditto what my sister said! That is too funny. Sorry you didn't catch any fish today though, but it's really not about the fish....it's the time spent with your son. Thanks for the memories
This looks so peaceful!! I'm glad that you were able to spend time with your son and I am sorry to hear that you didn't catch anything.... Better luck next time. :)
@carmichaelbev My son was an assistant coach at the college there in 2007! And now we drive past the Susquehanna as we head to Batavia where our other son lives. I'll wave to your hometown the next time we drive by!
Nice shot Rick- it doesn't look much different from the part we drive past heading out to western NY state. Nice shot- sorry you didn't catch any fish!
Wow, the Susquehanna River is so wide where you are! In Binghamton, where it intersects with the Chenango River, it is not nearly so wide. Although it sure did a lot of damage in the last flood. I'm sorry you did not catch any fish. I forgot you were taking a vacation. Just 12 stories (to write) and 10 days are between me and a wonderful lake in Maine! My boys are digging out their fishing gear...
@digitalrn - Nex time I paddle down the Susquehanna, I will wave at you. I probably would recognize you if you were standing there with a pole in your hand. The Susquehanna is just a strream in Binghamton.
(Looks too rough for a good row...)
Nice shot Rick- it doesn't look much different from the part we drive past heading out to western NY state. Nice shot- sorry you didn't catch any fish!
