Will They Survive

Stefanie's three tomatoe plants were literally knocked over as you can see here when a severe storm went through our area early this evening. We were able to set them back up, and then we went out to buy some additional stakes to offer a little more stability. It doesn't look like the stalks are broken, so we'll see if they survive. Her bleeding heart plant was destroyed.
That was some storm. It blew through here too- the third one today! So sorry about the bleeding heart )o: They are so pretty- but also very fragile.

What a shame ... yes, we had a part of that storm even here in Michigan! I hope that her tomato plants survive alright. It looks like they will. Great capture and pov on this, Rick!

Hope they are ok

Well I am sorry about her plant but the tomatoes survived. Like life, a storm comes once in awhile but we weather it together.

I hope the tomatoes aren't too traumatized. I never sauce-such-a-thing.

@allie912 Clever :)

I hope the tomatoes survive and flourish. The bleeding hearts should blossom again next year. What a year for weather!

If the stalks weren't broken, then they're probably good to go.

I hope the Bleeding Heart comes back next year, because they are so beautiful. This tomato plant looks pretty substantial even though it's lying down. To look on the bright side, everything is looking greener though. :o)

How sad, Rick! They were so sturdy and beautiful yesterday.

Well what a darn shame when she has worked so hard, tell her not to give up....that is life!

Aww, shame about the storm and the plant it took out. Hope the tomatoes make it!

They will survive! I think the bleeding hearts will come back next year (not an expert though). We saw the storm over us but didn't end up very severe but looked like it had potential

Wow! Must have been quite a storm

If there is still something in the ground left of the bleeding heart it will survive. we always cut the stems off after blooming and they come back. as for the tomatoes..ours we grow in a steel cone shape frame and the climbers are attached to a steel rod with green twist ties. he can reach up to about eight feet in height. when they get taller the tomatoes usually get smaller in size and will just hang over.

They look pretty and green. I hope they're okay!
