I acquired this dainty little ring from my Father's remaining possessions. It belonged to my Great Grandmother. It is known as a Mother's Blue Star Son In The War Ring which they wore in support of their Son while in the war. My Grandfather served in WWI. I also have the small Blue Star pin that matches.
How beautiful that is, Rick ...and what it stand for. A keepsake that really means so much. I don't think that we have that kind of patriotism anymore. These pieces shouldn't be hidden away in a drawer ... we need to remember.
@tara11 Tara, I think it is so neat that this posting helped solve your mystery. I learned that they were used for both Mothers and sweethearts. Do you know if your Grandfather served in WWI?
This is so touching! What history you are holding there! I did not know of these! I cannot understand what those who lived through that went through....fav
