Doors

I am fascinated by certain doors. There is something about the design, the architecture that I feel speaks out to you. These are two doors that I noticed today. The one on the left is an entrance door to a nearby church. I realize everyone is different, but I would want the door to a church to appear warm, and inviting, summoning one to come into a place that offers solice. To me, the strong color of red, though it looks nice against the grey stone, comes off a bit too strong, lacking the warmth one would expect. Please, no offense to those of you who go to a church with a red door. This is my interpretation. The door on the right, is the front entrance of a nearby house. Its design, its color, and its shape on the other hand conveys a strong sense of warmth. It kind of draws you in. Again, my interpretation. What do you see?
I really like the warm light from the door on the right. It is the glow that draws me in. The church door looks strong nestled in the brickwork. Nice photos and collage.

I have to agree with you, Rick, especially your interpretation of the second door. The warm light on the inside invites you in. Beautiful captures and a great presentation.

I am okay with the red door, but if I picture that warmer door on that church, I thnk it would look awesome!

Beautiful!

The red door is peaceful to me, the lit door invites me in. Wonderful shots.

I understand what you see, but when I look at the red door, I think of strength. Oftentimes when I walk through the door of a church, I am feeling weak and uncertain. I am tired of the world and its heaviness. I can't bear it. But when I walk through the doors, I find there is Someone bigger than me Who has the strength to carry me through those tough times. I'm in a place that is sacred and offers me solace, even refreshing me so that I can face the world again. So, the red door is inviting to me! The other door is also inviting but for different reasons. It represents home and the people I love and love to be with. So, I like them both!! Nice, thought provoking collage Rick!

I like how you see these doors and I would have to agree with you.
They are lovely! I like the one on the right :)

I see what you see, Rick. The strong red on the church door looks a bit severe to me and reminds me of strict nuns! lol Whereas, the other door looks like a warming fire behind a grate. Far more inviting.

So maybe it was the mundane challenge I meant!

I love photos of doors and these are both beautiful! Hmmm, the golden glow of the stained glass and the wood surely does feel more warm and inviting than the red door. I usually think of red as a warm color, but the combination of the color, the shape and the gray stones makes that door less welcoming in an odd way. It's still a beautiful door, though.

Doors are important to the feel of the house or building. Great shots. Maybe you could do a series on the doors you find.

I think both doors are beautiful, especially the church door.

I think doors should compliment the trim of the house or building without being glaring about it. The one on the left, I feel is glaring.
