I shared a photo once before of this historic railroad station in my hometown, but this morning the lighting was beautiful. I had to back track and grab a few shots. I realize it is a little dark, but this is basically how it looked this morning as I passed. I did add some sepia tones to the image. It is no longer used as a railroad station.
Wow! Gorgeous! It reminds me of the book The Reliable Wife. It is set at the turn of century...1900... A man lists an ad for a wife. Not too pretty he says, because that is always a complication. A woman responds, tells him how steadfast and plan she is. Even sends a photo. It just was not a hot of her. He meets her at the train station...she's a hottie! Let the complications ensue! So...this is how I imagined the station...
I like Mary Beth's comment..I never read the book but I can envision her arriving on the train.. @olivetreeann Rick this looks great in sepia tone..yes I remember this railroad station.
Oh how I love a dramatic sky! It's my biggest weakness as a photographer. So this is a fave for me. @espyetta I read that book too, and I knew just what you meant!
Check out the architecture and perspective. This building would be perfect for art students. Very nice picture. That said, I think our country dropped the ball when it let our trains go into oblivion. Now we have highways jammed up with gas burning trucks.
