It was a miserable day, weather wise, so I did not go out side for photos. The only time I was out was to take the boys outside to do their business, and of course to go for supper, so I had to rely on things around the house for photos. This is a photo of my Dad's shaving brush that he had used for quite a few years before his death. It is still soft, as you can tell in the photo, and through years of use it has lost its shape. It's a keepsake that I have setting around.
It's wonderful, Rick. First a great subject for a story-telling photo and a peek into a world long gone by. I bought one of those brushes for my husband and it cost a lot of money. That might be why it is still in such good condition.
I do like the focus. You can feel the worn softness of those bristles. It must have been a favourite brush and still is in its way as you have a fondness for your Dad's memories associated with it.
My Dad still uses a brush like this to shave with. Every time he soaps up, it reminds me of a time when I was young when I walked in on him thinking he was Santa Claus! :P
