Today a group of us including myself, my wife Josie, my sister Donna, her friend Kim, my brother Gary and his son Kyle, along with Ann @olivetreeann met for a walk around at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. We saw a few high flyers, but couldn't tell what they were, then at one of the overlooks my Brother shouts for our attention. I quickly grabbed a shot as this one just left my sight. Turns out, I believe it was a vulture, not sure. We had a great time hiking the trail. It was hot, some rugged terrain, but tolerable, and it was great having the chance to meet Ann. So often all we do is exchange comments on line, but what a pleasure to get to meet some of our friends face to face. This Fall we hope to make a trip to Bushkill Falls and meet up again. Ann, thanks for driving down to meet up with us. It was fun!
I had such a great time Rick! I felt like we'd already been friends for years we fell right in step (for real!). Josie et al were just as fun to meet and I loved listening to the family banter. I can't wait to get the pictures put on a CD so I can upload them on my computer. Maybe some time this week. I'm really looking forward to the Fall. Perhaps Nada, Laraine and Rich (Laraine's hubby) will join us as well. And yes, this is a Turkey Vulture. It was my pleasure to meet you at Hawk Mt.!
I captured a hawk once, and was really pleased with myself until I got home and put it on my computer only to find out it was a vulture. They're still pretty cool, though. How fun that you got to meet Ann!
