The day started early as we were planning our Thanksgiving dinner with the Kids today. I got up early and put the Ham in the crockpot, then Josie and I went out to do a little more shopping, got the rest of the tree decorations, came home and we began preparing the rest of the meal. Here you see a pan full of chopped onions and celery, salt and pepper being sautéed in butter which is part of our home made potato filling. When this is sautéing the aroma permeates the house. I love the smell.
@allie912@maggiemae Allison, maybe I will consider that when I retire. Maggiemae, our Thanksgiving is actually on Thursday November 28th. Our Kids will be busy so we decided to celebrate early.
@happypat@mrssmith203@maggiemae@allie912 Today I am using the remaining ham broth as well as some of the ham and making a big pot of Ham & Green Beans. The aroma is back in the kitchen
It could easily be sitting on our stove plate when Hans does his cooking. I read your reply where you mentioned Ham & Green Beans. I brought a recipe with me from back home and cook it quite often. it's a famous recipe us people from Hamburg cook. even a song was made of it. we're talking Green Beans, Pears and Smoke Meat. the pears give it a delicious sweet/sour taste.
