Natural Shelf

I am always fascinated when I see these outward growths on tree trunks. They always remind me of shelves. The weather was nice for a walk outside today, and though not as warm as I had hoped, it was still comfortable. During the early morning hours, more snow is predicted, up to 5 inches. Really?
