Ok so this was my project for the weekend. The infamous back side door, the one we never use, and all those little panes. After I removed the old glazing around each window I had to re-glaze them, both sides, then today after allowing it to cure, I went around with a razor blade and cleaned up the edges as well as I could. Then came the painting. After painting the door and around each window I again used the razor blade to scrape off the excess paint from the glass. Before this it was a dark brown, I believe the original paint from when my Grandparents were alive. But now it looks fresh and I am happy to be finished with that one.
Gosh Rick you really never quit! It looks beautiful and must be so satisfying to be maintaining and improving the home of your parents and their parents.
A job well done, Rick. You should see me at this very moment. I have continued where the painters left and continued by painting the kitchen. My hands are full of dried paint but I decided to go through some shots before I go and wash.
I am so impressed by people who are handy. Watching our contractor successfully doing a multitude of different jobs on the kitchen project really astonishes me. I know my limitations. You are in the class of handy people whom I hold in high regard.
Wow Rick! ALL that and you still have time for all your many friends over here?! Given all the work you've put into your home, wouldn't it warm the hearts of your grandparents to know how well you're looking after the family home!
