Almost all new digital cameras are equipped with video capability, I have heard of a few wedding photographers going all or mostly video. Also Lightroom 4 has basic video editing abilities, allowing you to extract a single frame as a photo. What does this mean to photography?
Here is a great production / documentary on Little Freddie King, by Joe McNally with the new Nikon D4
@sheg it might have to do with custom settings there are settings that lock and unlock features, ... somthing to do with live view mode , youll figure it out.
I guess I should have titled the post better, maybe "Who actually takes video with their DSLR".
@manek43509@sheg thanks for the reply, my comment was nothing to do with yours I just expected more participants in this thread.
seems video is becoming more popular and high end DSLR are producing great quality productions. I have seen an episode of House done with Canon 5D mark II, and many more including short films and music videos. I would like to get into video someday. Just curious how many pro photographers include film in their portfolio.
@eryck a friend of mine chris wehner is a photographer here in tulsa. He won the Imagination Canon Contest with one of his photos. He got to go Ny and meet Ron Howard and his daughter. They were talking about the show House being done with high end DSLRS and how they are becoming really popular to use in production! I got to see the 27 minute movie that was inspired by the 8 photos. It was pretty awesome.
Got it on my D5100. I'm seeing a lot of photographers adding video to what they do on jobs and I think its a great idea, because dslr video is amazing. I use it but wish I used it more! great video by the way.
When choosing my Dslr I actually went with smaller and less weight due to it having no video. I realized that I still had yet to do anything with videos from two years before.
@axel just had a chance to check out your album , the time lapse on jan 18 is a great example, even tho its not video your working with a video file, very nice first time i see that on 365
my DSLR has video, but I prefer the video on my Sony HX9V. Here's a link to someone else's videos shot with this model, pretty amazing! http://vimeo.com/25396445
