"Upgrade Details
We’ve had several questions around who is eligible for an upgrade to Lightroom 4. Any Lightroom 1, 2 or 3 version of Lightroom, education editions included, can utilize the upgrade version of Lightroom 4. The prior version of Lightroom does not need to be installed on the computer, however you will need the prior version serial number at the time of installation of Lightroom 4. (If the prior version is still installed on the computer, Lightroom 4 will automatically pick up that serial number so you don’t need to go digging through boxes or your email)
Upgrade policy for those that just purchased LIghtroom 3
We’ve seen quite a few questions from those who have just purchased Lightroom 3. If you purchased Lightroom 3 very recently you may be eligible for a complimentary upgrade to Lightroom 4: http://www.adobe.com/go/pa"
Interesting that they offer upgrade pricing for the educational editions. That could be useful for someone who is no longer eligible for one, otherwise it's the same price.
Thanks for posting the link with the issues - I use Nik's plug-ins through LR, it'll be interesting to see if I have trouble tonight (off to buy mine now).
Is the student and teacher version of lightroom OK or does it have bits missing like microsoft office not supplying outlook? I was thinking of buying this because piknik is closing. Can anyone please advise?
@rosiekind --- I can't answer that question but I just found out the new version of Picasa, which is free, has picked up some of Picnik's edit features. They still have a link to the online site so I don't know how that will work after Picnik closes down next month. I guess we will see later.
@rosiekind It's always been the same in the past. I can't verify that quite yet, the student store didn't have any today (sold the ones they had yesterday). I'll find out in the next couple of days.
